Where Basker's editor uses AI to suggest content for you to review — alt text and SEO metadata
Basker's editor offers a few places where AI can suggest content for you, to save typing and get you to a starting draft. The suggestions are starting points, not finished work — review and edit them before saving.
AI suggestions are available on Plus and above. See Choosing a Basker plan.
The features below are the AI-assisted ones available in the editor today.
Suggest alt text
In the media library, the Generate Alt Text button suggests an alt-text description from the image itself. Use it to seed alt text on a fresh upload, or to fill in items in an older media library that's missing descriptions.
What it does well:
- Describes what's visibly in the image — people, objects, settings.
- Gets you to a usable description faster than starting from a blank field.
What to review:
- AI doesn't know the purpose of the image on your site. A photo of a cellist might be described as "A person playing a cello," when the editorially useful description is "Yo-Yo Ma performing the Bach suites at the Hollywood Bowl, July 2026." Add the editorial context that the AI can't infer.
- AI can be over-confident about identification. If the suggestion names someone or somewhere specific, double-check it.

Suggest meta description
In the SEO tab on a page, post, or event, the Generate option next to the meta description field drafts a description from the record's title, body content, and other metadata.
What it does well:
- Produces a coherent 1–2 sentence summary that fits within the recommended SEO description length.
- Adapts to the type of record — a post, an event, a page each get a sensibly different shape of description.
What to review:
- The suggestion picks up on what the record currently says. If your draft is light on detail, the suggestion will be too. Fill in body content first, then ask for a description.
- Editorial voice doesn't survive automatically. If your house style is more formal or more conversational than the suggestion, edit it.
Suggest meta title
In the SEO tab, the Generate option next to the meta title field drafts a title appropriate for search results, separate from the page's display title. Use this when the on-page title and the search-result title need to differ — long pages where a shorter SEO title reads better, or events where you want to highlight a specific detail in search.
What to review:
- The suggestion targets length first; check that it carries the keywords your audience would actually search for.
- Watch for over-padding. A meta title cluttered with venue, season, and year tags can lose the actual event name in search snippets.
When AI suggestions appear
The Generate controls only appear in the SEO tab and the media library. They aren't enabled in every editor area, and they aren't run automatically — you trigger them when you want a suggestion.
If you don't see the Generate buttons, your site is on a plan that doesn't include AI suggestions. See Choosing a Basker plan to compare tiers, or contact sales.
