Media and files
How images, downloadable files, and other assets are managed in Basker, and where they appear across your site
Basker stores the assets your site uses in two related places: a media library for images and a files area for non-image uploads such as PDFs, programmes, and brochures. Both sit alongside each other in the Media section.
- Reuse without re-uploading. Upload an item once and reference it wherever you need it. If you replace the file later, every place that references it picks up the new version.
- Tagged and searchable. Items can be tagged, searched, and filtered. Images also carry alt text, captions, and credits, which help accessibility tools and search engines understand what's on the page.
- One tag set across both. Images and files share the same tags, so a "press kit" tag can cover the image and the PDF that go together.
Where media and files show up
- As the main image on a page, event, or other content type.
- Inside content blocks — embedded images, galleries, and downloadable file links.
- As theme assets like logos, favicons, fonts, and background imagery.
- In social media previews when your pages are shared on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and similar platforms.
