Venues

Manage the venues your events take place at

A venue is a reusable record for a place where events happen. Each venue has its own public page on the site, and the same venue can be referenced from any number of events and performances.

If your organisation runs from a single venue, you'll likely have one venue record. Festivals, touring companies, and presenters with multiple stages will have several.

What a venue record contains

  • A name for the venue.
  • A description — rich-text body content for the venue's page.
  • An address and any location detail (city, region, country, post code).
  • Map coordinates, if the theme uses them for embedded maps.
  • One or more images — exterior, interior, seating plan.
  • Contact and accessibility detail — phone, accessibility notes, transport links.
  • Links to the venue's own website if it has one.

Linking a venue to an event

Each event has a primary venue. Set it on the event as part of the event's detail.

If a single event instance happens at a different venue from the event's primary one — a touring date, an alternate location for a runout — set the venue override on that instance. See Event instances.
