General settings
Set your site's name, avatar, and the operational details that show up across the admin
General settings are the basic identity and regional defaults for your site. They live under Settings → General in Basker. The screen is titled General Settings with the subtitle Manage your site's basic settings including name, timezone, currency, and security options.
The page has three sections: Site Details, Localization, and Your Plan.
Site Details
The Site Details section sets the identity of your site:
- Name (required) — how the site is identified in Basker. It appears in the admin sidebar, in notification emails, in account-level lists when a user has access to multiple sites, and as the default page title on the live site if your theme doesn't override it. Pick a name that reads well in all of these contexts — usually your organisation's public name.
- Site Avatar — the image used to represent your site in the admin and in notification emails. Upload a square logo or icon, or click Choose File to pick from your computer. You can also drag a file directly onto the dropzone. The avatar doesn't need to be the same image as your live site's logo, though many sites use the same one for consistency.
Localization
The Localization section controls the regional defaults that flow through events and other dated content:
- Timezone — the default timezone for any date or time that doesn't carry its own.
- Currency — the default currency for monetary amounts on the site.
See Locale settings for the detail on how each takes effect.
Your Plan
The Your Plan section shows the Basker plan your site is on (e.g., Plus). To change plan, contact sales — see Choosing a Basker plan.
