Configuring your site

An overview of the operational settings that sit underneath your content — name, identity, locale, domains, redirects, security, and the activity log

Site settings are the operational controls for your Basker site — the things that aren't content and aren't part of your theme, but sit underneath both. Most sites configure these once during setup and revisit them only when something changes (a new domain, a new language, a security policy update).

What's covered here

  • General settings — site name, avatar, identity, and password protection.
  • Locale settings — timezone and currency, and how those defaults flow through events and other content.
  • Domains — the domains your site is reachable on.
  • Redirects — manage redirects in addition to the ones Basker creates automatically.
  • Security — sign-in security, session policies, and access controls.
  • Site activity — an audit log of changes across your site.

Languages

The Settings → Languages screen is where you add and remove the languages your site supports. The detail of how multilingual content actually works — translating fields, fallback behaviour, language switching on the live site — lives with the rest of the content workflow under Languages and translation.

Search tuning lives with the Search & discovery app, not under Site settings. The defaults work out of the box; come to Search & discovery when you need to nudge specific results higher with boosts or handle alternate spellings with synonyms.
