Create a post

Add a new editorial post to one of your blogs

Posts are the individual editorial entries inside a blog. Each post has its own URL, its own page, and supports the same drafts, scheduling, SEO, and translation features as other content in Basker.

Build a post

Pick the blog

Open the Posts area and start a new post. Pick the blog the post belongs to — if your site has only one blog, this is automatic.

Set the title and description

The title is the headline. The description is the short summary used in listings and as the default SEO description.

Set the author and taxonomy

Add one or more authors — the byline. Pick a category (the primary grouping) and any tags (looser, free-form labels).

Add the header image

Upload or pick a header image from the media library. This image represents the post in listings and at the top of the post page.

Write the body

Compose the post's body using your theme's blocks. See Building pages with blocks.

Set SEO and visibility

Open the SEO tab to set meta title, description, and image. Use the Show in navigation and Show in search options if you need to hide the post from those surfaces. See SEO and Visibility.

Save as a draft

Save the post as a draft to preview it. Schedule a publish moment, or publish immediately when you're happy. See Drafts, preview, and publishing.

Per-post theme settings

Posts can override the theme's defaults the same way pages can. Use Theme settings for guidance — the same idea applies, with per-post in place of per-page.
