People
Manage the artists, creative team, and contributors that appear across your events and content
A person is a reusable record for someone who appears across your events and content — an artist, conductor, creator, designer, contributor, or anyone else with a name and a role. Each person has their own public page on the site, and the same person record can be referenced from any number of events, performances, posts, and other content.
Building people as their own records means a biography written once shows everywhere they appear, and updates to it propagate.
What a person record contains
- A name — the canonical name for the person.
- An optional alternate name — for performance names, stage names, or local-language variants.
- A biography — rich-text body content for the person's page.
- A headshot or portrait image.
- Links — website, social media, or other relevant URLs.
- Optional categories or roles the person typically performs (singer, conductor, designer, etc.).
People records support the same versioning, drafts, and SEO controls as other content.
When to create a new person
Create a person record whenever someone needs to be referenced from event content. Even if a person appears only once, having them as a record means future productions can re-use the same biography and image without duplication.
If the person is a one-off mention with no biographical detail and no return appearances expected, you can leave them as plain text on the event itself. As a rule of thumb: if you'd want their name to be a link, make them a person record.
Linking a person to an event
People are linked to events from the event's editor — typically as part of the participants or cast section. A single event can list many people, each with their role for that event ("Conductor", "Soprano", "Director").
The same person can have different roles on different events; the role is a property of the link, not the person.
